A personal retrospective of 40 years research into ozone depletion, UV increases, and their interactions with human health and climate ...
In an earlier post I crowed that my book “Saving our Skins” was now available at Amazon. I immediately started to get responses from people saying they tried to buy it but found that Amazon weren’t currently shipping to NZ (due, they said, to Covid-19 flight restrictions). I since made it available at Amazon in kindle version, but that didn’t really satisfy the NZ market. People here mainly prefer real books.
To satisfy the local market needs (mainly family and friends), I arranged for a local print run of the colour version by ODT Print, here in Alexandra. The only differences is that it’s printed in 10-point font on A5 instead of the 11-point font used in the imperial 6x9 inch size used in USA.
Here’s the cover of the NZ version
For more background, listen to my interview about the book with Cass Jack from Local Radio Central.
Availability
Apart from its availability in three formats from Amazon, the colour paperback version of “Saving our Skins” is stocked by the Alexandra and Cromwell branches of PaperPlus, and the Otago University Bookshop in Dunedin. It’s also available both in paperback and PDF format from TradeMe, and for community and school libraries from Wheelers.
If you want a copy, but can’t obtain one from any of those places, please contact me here at uv@substack.com. I should be able to direct you to a supplier.
Update February 24, 2021
Since earlier this month, the Amazon web site says they can now deliver to New Zealand. But while my (dwindling) stocks last, they will be the cheaper and faster option.
